Earlier this year, on International Women's Day, Helen Tomlinson, Head of Talent (UK & Ireland) at The Adecco Group was appointed Menopause Employment Champion. Since her appointment, Helen has been focusing on encouraging employers to develop menopause policies to create more supportive environments to help women experiencing menopause to stay and progress in work.
Good progress is already being made, with many businesses engaging with Helen and Mims in her Ministerial role at the Department for Work and Pensions, at forums and roundtables nationwide to recognise the importance of supporting employees and sharing best practice.
Additionally, guidance has been published for employers and employees on menopause in the workplace, to help provide support and advice to help employers support their employees and grow their workplace.
The guidance can be found here: Menopause and the Workplace - Help to Grow

There is no excuse for women experiencing menopause to miss out on the same opportunities to thrive as other members of staff. But without sufficient understanding of the symptoms and no support in place to help them carry on with their jobs comfortably, we will continue to lose talented women from our shopfloors, boardrooms, building sites and every other workplace.
Helen and I have led business roundtables around the country, and have been working with employers to guide them to have better support for women with debilitating menopause impact at work. The progress we've made wouldn’t have been possible without Helen and her leadership. She is an amazing advocate for menopausal and perimenopausal women in every corner of the UK.
We now need every organisation, business and employer to step up and I encourage businesses to look at the free guidance on the Help to Grow website, which has been created building on the best practice and experiences of employers who are already doing great work.
