Mims Davies MP, for Mid Sussex, will be hosting her Jobs, Careers and Wellbeing Fair on Friday 10th March 1-4pm at The Kings Church in Burgess Hill. The event is free to attend with free parking in the venue car park and surrounding roads, if you plan to drive.
Mims comments:
‘The day looks packed with many local employers, volunteering organisations and apprenticeship schemes from Mid Sussex attending the event, highlighting the excellent opportunities in our community if you are looking for work, to boost your skills or share your talents. There is huge potential to find something of interest with so much choice and so many employers offering job opportunities from lots of different sectors and growing industries’
There will also be some very interesting and informative presentations to attend through out the day from services such as Incorpore Ltd - Your Wellness Hub, West Sussex Fire and Rescue who will be explaining what help and support they offer and how to stay safe at home and valuable insights from Diabetes UK.
The DWP will explain the ‘Access to Work Scheme’ for those who have a disability or health condition and there will also be information from Cyber Consulting about cyber security and how to stay safe online.
Sometimes it can be hard to find a job with flexibility to juggle around other potentially important long-term commitments.
Mims continues:
‘When planning this event, I have given extra thought to carers, people returning to work, people living with disabilities among many other reasons why someone might need some support to find the right job or voluntary role for them. Having presentations on such vital topics through out the day, I hope will help support and provide some very important information. I want to help everyone succeed and to be able to achieve in life’
This event will be most beneficial to those looking for a new job or a possible change of role or career. There will be many employers attending to talk face to face to explore future career opportunities and highlight new job designs and wider work options. There will also be volunteering opportunities, information about apprenticeships and information about courses to upskill.
Our thanks go to all key sponsors who are helping us make this happen: Steve Willis Training Centres, Orchards Shopping Centre, Jonathan Lea Network and Newman Thomson Print Media. We would also like to thank The Kings Church for providing such a perfect venue for this event.
Mims adds:
‘Please do come along to this free event - as there is so much to offer on the day, don’t miss out on this opportunity to see what’s on offer down the road from you and make this year all you want it to be. There is so much nearby that can help you be more fulfilled or even better off! ‘
