Mims Davies MP is pleased to be able to raise awareness for World Arthritis Day.
Arthritis is the single biggest cause of disability and pain across the country with around 10 million people being affected. The pain, fatigue and lack of mobility caused by arthritis affects every aspect of a person’s life, making everyday tasks such as making a cup of tea, travelling to work or getting out of bed extremely difficult.
World Arthritis Day was brought about by the Arthritis Foundation and is designed to raise global awareness about the plurality of Arthritis. We all try to raise awareness through activities and awareness campaigns. Discussions are held regarding the symptoms connected to arthritis and the importance of early diagnosis.
Patients are also told of the ways to gain access to proper medical treatment. Among the different types of arthritis are ankylosing spondylitis, gout, lupus, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. With timely medical intervention, patients can lead a comfortable life.
Mims Davies MP said:
"I am proud to have been an Arthritis Champion to aid Arthritis Research UK’s policy calls to tackle the prevention, transformation and cure of arthritis. We need to put the issues affecting people with arthritis at the forefront of Parliament’s agenda.
I was also able to visit the Versus Arthritis stand at party conference this year to support the 10 million people across the UK living with arthritis.
“I am committed to making a difference and together with my Ministerial colleagues, we can fight this painful condition that has such a huge impact on all aspects of people’s lives across my constituency of Mid Sussex.”
