Following the visit, Mims said:
“I had a wonderful visit to Walstead Place. Staff in Care Homes work incredibly hard to ensure our loved ones are well looked after. This was especially true during the Pandemic. It was fantastic to chat to Jacquie and her amazing team, and to meet, chat and enjoy a cup of tea with the residents. It was fabulous to watch them enjoying an afternoon of carpet Bowls. It was brilliant to see that the competitiveness does not go away.”
Mims met with the residents to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake after watching their game of afternoon of carpet bowls.
Before she left Mims unveiled the plaque dedicated to their 2022 Time Capsule and was presented with a bunch of beautiful flowers by one of the residents, which were received with pleasure.
