The Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies, is supporting the ‘Shop Local, Shop Little’ campaign to encourage more people across Mid Sussex and beyond to support small, independent shops during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
The Federation of Independent Retailers has taken a number of steps to support small shops and as part of the campaign have produced the attached poster to raise awareness within communities of how everyone can support their local shops.
Commenting, the Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, Mims Davies said:
“I’m so pleased to be able to support this great campaign. Local independent shops are the backbones of our high streets and COVID-19 has shone a spot light on just how much pressure they’re under. On my website we have put together a list of local food delivery services for anyone who needs it.”
“I am proud to support our local retailers and whilst so much of the media coverage is focused on supermarket shelves it’s important to remember there are so many more shops out there than just the big supermarkets! Many smaller shops have made huge efforts to accommodate shoppers during the ongoing pandemic and I pay tribute to all of them including Cottenhams Butchers in Lindfield, Tom’s Food in Cuckfield and The Fresh Fish Shop in Haywards Heath.”
Ends.
