As businesses and the local economy continue to recover from the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mims Davies, Mid Sussex’s MP, hosted her first local #BounceBackBusinessBreakfast on the Broadway in Haywards Heath, in Orange Square earlier this month. She was joined by local business owners and entrepreneurs across a range of industries and sectors, as they shared their experiences of supporting jobs and livelihoods with the Government’s help, over the past 2 years.
Following the event, Mims Davies MP said:
“I recognise how difficult the pandemic has been for local businesses and I was pleased to host a relaxed and engaging event where local business owners could share useful experiences, discuss how they could work together to resolve mutual challenges and enjoy themselves! It was a fantastic morning, the food was lovely as always, and I look forward to hosting similar events in the future.”
During the breakfast, there were two guest speakers, Jaime Wallden from Mansell McTaggart and Angela Gill, the MD at Bio Productions in Burgess Hill, providing the guests with insights into the various challenges they faced during the pandemic and how they have used innovative methods to solve and overcome the unique issues they’ve both faced.
This was an opportunity for local businesses to network, share stories, discuss the future labour market and skills needs, including green jobs, as well as discussing how they could help and support one another. Mid Sussex is fortunate to have a wide range of fantastic, large businesses such as CAE UK Ltd and Bio Production Ltd, as well as a plethora of amazing SME’s, whether that’s in aviation, property, wine or beyond. They are extremely creative, innovative and hard working. This is vital in creating a healthy, dynamic, local economy and continued business cooperation will continue to play a key role in the UK’s economic recovery from the pandemic.
