Mims Davies, MP for Eastleigh, visited Crestwood Community School as part of an introduction to this two site school. A tour, led by Head Boy, Joey Field and Head Girl, Charlotte Parkinson, and joined by Headteacher, Krista Dawkins, Cllr Wayne Irish of Hampshire County Council and Eastleigh Borough Council, Chair of Governor’s, Angela Wright, and Vice-Chair of Governor’s, Janet Bell, allowed Mims to meet with staff, students and Governors.
Mims said:
“I am very pleased to see Crestwood Community School moving forward with their plans to ensure they make the best use of their 2 sites since the merger of Crestwood College with Quilley School in 2016. This is a great opportunity to provide a greater range of facilities for students."
She continued:
“During my visit today I was particularly honoured to be able to present certificates to the top six students for attainment, the top six students for progress and a special community award for public service in the face of adversity. They are a true inspiration to all of us and this is a wonderful celebration of their success."
Headteacher Krista said:
"As a two-site school we are unusual in Hampshire and this challenges us in the way we manage our resources. I am very proud of what has been achieved and the success we have been able to recognise today shows the dedication of pupils and staff.”
