We celebrate this weekend Her Majesty, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. 70 years of devoted public service is a truly amazing achievement. I’m sure we will all enjoy celebrating this event-at one of the many public events, a street party or perhaps watching the TV coverage with a nice cup of tea. Thank you to all those who have arranged events to celebrate this momentous occasion. We also send 70th anniversary wishes to East Grinstead Choral Society. If anyone else is celebrating their platinum jubilee, do let me know.
I recently attended the House of Commons event hosted by the Football Foundation to discuss their updated plans for Mid Sussex. Following, recent meetings with our football clubs and the Foundation leading to much needed further understanding of funding needed for improvements to our pitches and changing facilities. Plus important boosts for women’s & girls game, walking football and much more. We’ve some fantastic football clubs in Mid Sussex, and I’ll push to see these projects implemented. For more: visit the football foundation website.
Last Friday, I joined the relaunch of the Woodlands Meed Inclusivity Training for businesses at their Meeds Job Club. They’ve have designed a training and support package to help businesses build a more diverse and inclusive workforce. This gives local businesses, the ability to find out more on how inclusivity can benefit their business and how they can access the support of professionals. This all via a great networking event for employers to share their best practices and experiences.
I joined the Mayor of Haywards Heath and many more to celebrate the 50 years of the wonderful Bolney Wine Estate. The family have done a tremendous job seeing the potential , building a wonderful portfolio of wine in a unique venue. This really was a bold move 50 years back and they’re now a global reaching Mid Sussex business to be very proud of.
Finally, Bowls is booming across our great Mid Sussex clubs like Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath-I loved being part of the #bowlsbigweekend, in Lindfield on Saturday-friendly, fun & a sport for all-do get involved!
