Basepoint in Haywards Heath is thriving with opportunities to start and grow your business locally. With Mid Sussex District Council and Coast2Capital at their recent showcase day, it’s clear help is nearby for a launch pad office site. Not long until my latest Jobs, Careers and Wellbeing Fair, which is on Friday 10th March running between 1pm-4pm at The Kings Church, in Burgess Hill. The event is free to attend and all details are on my website. If you are interested in having a stand then do let me know by Friday 24th February. There’ll be informative presentations such as the DWP explaining about the Access to Work Scheme for those who have a disability or health condition alongside information about cyber security and how to stay safer online. This event will be most beneficial to those looking for a new job or apprenticeship a possible change of career and with many local employers attending this is a chance to explore wide-ranging local career opportunities. There’ll also be volunteering opportunities and information about various apprenticeships with a chance to find a about schemes which are for all ages. My thanks to all the event sponsors-Steve Willis Training Centres, Orchards Shopping Centre, Jonathan Lea Network and Newman Thomson Print Media. We’d also like to thank The Kings Church for providing such a perfect venue for this event.
It was a great pleasure to visit residents at Oakwood, in Haywards Heath for a catch up and coffee last week during recess to chat about what’s on their minds. I’m always really keen to meet and hear from local groups- do get in touch if I can join in. I also met with the new Burgess Hill Business/Traders group to hear from them and discuss all the local challenges and opportunities. This week has been a busy return to Westminster, delivering the Cost of Living Bill next stages and the next stage of the Household Support Fund in my Ministerial role.
