I joined the very knowledgeable volunteer team at the wonderful Wings Museum near Balcombe, last Friday, as part of English Tourism Week. This is a fantastic local museum filled with diverse memorabilia and artefacts from WW2. The exhibits are accompanied by lots of information including amazing personal stories about those who fought with bravery and great sacrifice. This is a fascinating great place for both schools, organisations and families to visit.
I caught up with the Senior Leadership Team at Haywards Heath College, to hear how the students are progressing and to hear how the college and their staff are doing. Although there are challenges with catch up post pandemic, it’s great to see this college is continuing to thrive.
It was also great to meet Lingfield College students, to speak to them about politics and getting involved. It’s truly brilliant young people are now more empowered and encouraged to have a voice on issues and are thinking and commenting on local, national and global matters. It feels a great change from how many of us grew up.
Our PM Rishi Sunak's Windsor Framework agreement will ensure free flowing trade and safeguard sovereignty for the people of Northern Ireland. I believe in the interests of the local people, business and moving forward, this is a positive outcome and was the right approach to take. Due to personal reasons, I was, very unusually, not in Westminster last Wednesday so could not take part in the vote to support this.
