Last Wednesday, I was pleased to meet Philip from Burgess Hill and Headway Sussex at an Acquired Brain Injury event in Parliament. The local team at Headway Sussex helped my father after he suffered a brain injury when he was attacked at work. Their support was vital for his therapy and recovery, so I understand the importance of getting this issue up the agenda.

It means people who are thought to be in their final year of life are able to receive vital financial help through the ‘Special Rules’ six months earlier than previously. This is crucially important for families at this distressing time.
May is National Walking Month, and this week is ‘Walk to School Week’. For those leading a more sedentary lifestyle, let’s all try to increase our steps and walk our way to increased fitness especially as the weather improves.
