Thursday last week saw a flying visit to Borde Hill to offer congratulations on their wonderful 130th Anniversary. A great achievement, and a true gem in our midst.
In the evening, I attended the Steve Willis Apprenticeship Graduation Evening in Burgess Hill. A great local business offering short courses and apprenticeships in Gas, Plumbing, Electrical and LPG and Oil, it was great to see the latest cohort graduate to start their working lives. I wish them all the best.
We are incredibly lucky to have the amazing South of England Show taking place on our doorstep. I was delighted to attend and enjoyed getting the chance to look around and meet many agricultural and livestock exhibitors as well as local constituents and visitors. This was an outstanding event and vital for our local economy.
I’ve written to the BBC Director General to express my concerns over plans to cut BBC local radio services, impacting both BBC Radio Sussex and other. I strongly believe these counterproductive and unwise changes will decimate the BBC’s distinctiveness and drive listeners away. Do get in touch if you want to join my campaign to keep our output local.
