I was pleased to welcome Trudy Harrison MP, Minister for Natural Environment & Land Use to Mid Sussex discuss our beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty deer numbers and forestry management with leadership from High Weald AONB Partnership and Hugo, a local estate manager. I then took Trudy to Ansty where we on site discussed the shared fury that has been expressed from residents over the ongoing proposed plans for 'Cuck-stye' infilling between the villages-an inappropriate place for this level of development of additional development which would have had a huge impact on the character of the area and local infrastructure and is NOT in the District plan and has not been encouraged as suitable.
I’m very aware of the current Modality GP access issues and have attended all the recent meetings, I will continue to work alongside the Sussex NHS Integrated Care and other local MPs to ensure the best outcome is achieved for patients and next week I meet with new leadership at the QVH in East Grinstead.
Finally, there has been much in the news and on social media regarding issues with behaviour and attitudes of customers to staff. Monday 13th to Friday 17th November is anti-bullying week, let’s take this opportunity to look at how we interact with each other for example shop staff or those other organisations, to make our communities that little bit better and happier. There’s particular been a huge growth of abuse to shop staff and I know our Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne has been very focussed on this issue and working with our Police to help keep our high streets corner stores as well as rural areas safer.
So let’s all join in wearing odd socks on the 13th November, Odd Socks Monday, to celebrate what makes us all unique and to show our support against bullying. I’d love to say this is unusual in our house as the sock fairy has yet to send back many of our much needed pairs. It’s a great way of backing a great cause and helping others to know they are supported.
